[A/N] I really don't know if I like this or not. I wrote half of it in the middle of the night. It took a REALLY long time to get beta'd and there were a lot of mistakes, which kinda made me not like it too much anymore. I'm also thinking it might be a bit cliche? :\ Anyway, comments are ♥

“What the hell are you wearing?” Roxas asked as he paused in the doorway to Axel’s rooms. The man was wearing jeans, a tight-fitting teal tank top with flip-flops slipped on his bare feet. He had an elbow hooked over the arm of the chair and was twirling sunglasses between an index finger and thumb.

“I’m taking you somewhere,” Axel replied and flashed a bright grin. “I thought it would be cool to go in local clothing or something. . . Organization clothing is so dull and it'd stick out too much. Besides, I figured it’d be way too hot for all that black leather so I picked you up some clothes too. Hope they fit since I had to guess your size. . .”

Roxas didn’t move at first, but only stood and stared at Axel with a raised brow. His emerald eyes has a mischievous glint in them that made the blond unsure of what events lay ahead. “. . . Where are we going?”

“You’ll see,” the redhead replied, his gaze unwavering. “Don’t you trust me?”

“Not in the least,” Roxas said and turned to find out just what sort of ‘civvies’ Axel spoke of.

--

He felt uncomfortable in the baggy clothing flapping loosely against his skin. Following Axel, he stepped through a portal and into a shady alley and walked forward into a sunny courtyard.

“. . . I still don’t know where this is,” Roxas said, his voice showing his annoyance.

“Twilight Town!” Axel said, almost chirping the name of the world in which they now stood. He slipped his sunglasses on. It was an odd look for him; one that Roxas wasn’t quite sure he liked. His short red eyebrows looked even more strange above the black rim of the red shades. They hid his brilliant green eyes and only drew more attention to the dark purple lines tattooed on each cheek bone. It was just strange overall and Roxas had the feeling he wouldn't be the only one staring that day.

“Okay. . . So why’d you bring me here?”

Axel shrugged and grinned down at the shorter boy. Roxas could see himself reflected in red on the lense of Axel’s sunglasses. He didn’t like them. They made Axel look bad. Annoyed, Roxas was about to rip them from Axel’s face before the redhead spoke. “I just thought you’d enjoy a break from the World. And some sunlight. . . And ice cream!”

“Whu-” He wasn’t given any time before Axel grabbed him by the wrist gently and led him away. While Axel couldn’t see his face, Roxas furrowed his brow at the redhead’s back. He was acting really strange today. ‘What the hell,’ Roxas mouthed silently as he let himself be dragged along to an unknown destination.

--

“What the hell is sea salt ice cream?” Roxas pulled Axel’s arm until the man taller man bent down and asked quietly in his hear.

“I dunno. Try it,” Axel only shrugged. He had his eyes on the cinnamon.

“I’m going to punch you if it’s disgusting,” Roxas threatened.

“Ouch.”

--

They sat together

“It’s not going to eat you, Roxas,” Axel said and stuck the tip of his ice cream into his mouth.

“Who thought sea salt was a good ice cream flavor?” Roxas only stared at the blue ice cream on a stick he held in his hand as a small droplet slid down the side.

“Apparently you do, you go it.”

“Because you told me to!”

“I didn’t tell you to,” Axel said defensively. “I suggested it. There’s a difference.”

“Whatever,” Roxas snorted. He brought the ice cream up to his lips slowly and took a small lick. It was okay. Salty, yet slightly fruity. Okay, maybe it was a little bit better than okay. Axel smiled as he took a long lick.

--

They found somewhere not far away from civilization to just stand and watch the sunset as they finished their ice cream. It made Roxas want to think, but he didn’t let himself think too far and ruin his mood. Axel slurping all over his ice cream was distracting and annoying and it would certainly make thinking impossible anyhow.

Roxas was pulled out of his thoughts as he realised Axel was watching him rather intently. He thought. He wasn't quite sure. It was hard to tell through those stupid sunglasses on which he could see his own reflection.

“Would you take those goddamned things off?,” Roxas growled.

“What?” Axel asked, confused at Roxas’ sudden outburst. He bit off the last bit of ice cream and threw the stick behind him.

“Those fucking sunglasses. They make you look absolutely ridiculous.” Suddenly, Roxas stepped closer to the redhead, grabbed the collar of his tanktop and pulled the tall man down so he could remove the offending garment. “There.”

Roxas gave a small smile now that he could see his friend’s stunning eyes. They were such an emerald colour and Roxas loved them, but he’d never say that out loud. The curl of his lips reversed and his brow furrowed as he realised the strange look he was recieving from those eyes he loved. It was then that he realised that he was still holding onto Axel’s shirt and their faces were very close, too close for comfort.

“Uhm,” he said, and let go of the cloth clenched in his fingers. He looked away and blushed lightly. “Sorry.”

Axel straightened and smiled a kind smile that Roxas had never seen on the man’s face before. It scared him, but only because it was something he’d never seen before. The smile itself wasn’t scary at all. It was. . . gentle, soft. Affectionate?

He took a step towards Roxas, who backed up. He gasped as his back met a brick wall. “A-Axel. . . ?”

“I’ve never seen you smile before,” the redhead said, the smile not leaving his face.

“Uhm. . . ,” Roxas mumbled and gazed at his melting ice cream.

“You should do it more often. It suits you,” Axel told him as he hooked an index finger under the boy’s chin and lifted his face to look at him. He ran the pad of his thumb across a wet lower lip.

Roxas froze, visibly holding his breath, and it was obvious in his eyes that his brain had shut down. Axel didn’t want him to feel trapped, against a wall as he was, so he went slow. He bent over slightly and began closing up the space between them. He paused halfway, noting how Roxas’ eyes were now wide saucers of sapphire. The boy still didn’t move as he brought his face all the way up to Roxas’ and closed his eyes as he pressed his lips against the other’s.

A soft noise behind them told Axel that Roxas had dropped his ice cream, or what was left of it. He slipped his tongue out and prodded the soft lips connected with his. They parted, and Roxas exhaled as he found he couldn’t hold his breath any longer. Axel waited patiently for the boy to catch his breath before continuing.

Their mouths connected and a tongue tasting of cinnamon came in to join with one tasting of seasalt. The mixture of flavour wasn’t very favorable, but Axel pushed that thought to the back of his mind. Tongue exploring, Axel felt ever tooth, every ridge on the roof of the other’s mouth, every nook and cranny.

Roxas was still unmoving, his muscles tense as he leaned against the wall. Axel feared he had gone too far, crossed some sort of line, so he tried to pull back. Roxas whimpered in protest and his lips followed as his tongue set into motion. Slowly, the blond mimicked Axel’s movements, entering the older’s mouth with tongue and tasting teeth, tongue and saliva. He continued, despite the disgusting mix the cinnamon flavour was creating with the seasalt aftertaste of his own ice cream.

Tongue rubbed against tongue as they continued sharing their saliva with eachother. Soon enough, they broke apart slowly, gasping for air. Axel rested his forehead against the shorter boy’s. He observed the long, blond lashes of Roxas’ closed eyes, the tinge of pink running across cheek bones, and parted lips, wet with saliva, both his own and Axel’s.

“What was that?” Roxas asked quietly, opening his sapphire eyes to peer into Axel’s emerald.

“I do believe the call that. . . a kiss,” Axel replied, smiling.

“Remind me not to do that unless you’ve eaten something that will taste good with whatever flavor is still in my mouth.”

--

“I suppose I should thank you,” Roxas said, now back in his Organization clothing and standing in a bright, white marble hallway.

“No need,” Axel replied from his doorway, waving his hand.

“Thanks.”

“Tomorrow?”

“Tomorrow,” Roxas replied, smiling for Axel before heading towards his own rooms.
